Kosta Boda
Chateau Coupe 35 cl
Château was designed in 1981 and has sold over one million copies worldwide. The beautiful glasses are made by the glass workers at Kosta Glasbruk, in Småland, Sweden. The series is now supplemented with a coupe, which is well suited for gatherings with an elegant touch.
"I had two ambitions when I designed Château," says designer Bertil Vallien. “First, I wanted to make a glass that a machine could not make, which you could see was handmade. The optics in the hive and the thin leg. My other ambition was to keep the design simple but elegant. ” - Bertil Vallien

„For me, the blowing room is the centre of everything. It’s like ladling matter out of a volcano and watching the glowing lava turn to ice. Knowing the exact moment at which to capture a shift of light or expression and wrench the secret from the glass is what it’s all about.“
