Beans - White
From the origin, the small seed, grows and expands into a bean. In the same way, it is something unique to witness when the liquid glass mass is expanded by the glassworkers. The shape is affected by the centrifugal force but is handled with the help of wet newsprint. The series is completely freehanded and no Bean is exactly like the other.
“The inspiration for the obvious simplicity of the objects is taken from Ingeborg Lundin's Apple. Beans are my homage to Ingeborg. ”- Bertil Vallien

„For me, the blowing room is the centre of everything. It’s like ladling matter out of a volcano and watching the glowing lava turn to ice. Knowing the exact moment at which to capture a shift of light or expression and wrench the secret from the glass is what it’s all about.“
