When Ellen Ehk Åkesson was asked to create something new in honor of Ulrica as part of the tribute collection 2021, she chose to use the same form as Ulrica's "Ormbunke" and with it create a vessel from her own imagination.
“I wanted to do something of my own, but which has a connection to Ulrica's art. For the tribute collection, I found inspiration in her directness in thought and design language. I chose her white cylinder with a snake on it, "Ormbunke". I have used the same shape, where the vessel may symbolize a tree trunk. On it, modeled fungi grow freely, ticks, hence the name "Ticka".

Ticka is a mouth-blown vessel with a driven edge. The glassblower cuts off the hot glass and shapes the edge by hand to create a soft and round edge at the opening of the vessel. This makes each vessel unique. Each tick is put on and shaped by hand, which requires the vessel to heat up each time a tick is to be attached. The ticks are hand-painted.
Tick is produced in a limited edition of 100 pieces.
