Bengt Elde (1939-2015) wurde in Stockholm, Schweden, als Sohn eines Pfarrers und Absolvent der Hochschule für Kunst, Handwerk und Design in Stockholm, Konstfack, geboren. Er ist bekannt dafür, dass er seine Medien mit Leben, Bewegung, Glück und dem schwedischen Geist füllt. Elde war trotz seiner Zeit an der Konstfack Autodidakt. Seit über 50 Jahren ist sein Leben von der Malerei erfüllt. Seine detailreiche und farbenprächtige Kunst kann nicht anders als gute Laune zu verbreiten.

Placemats featuring artwork by Bengt Elde

I was very pleased to receive my placemats with the artwork of Bengt Elde. In the winter of 2001 I visited Stockholm and happened into a gallery that had such placemats, I really liked them and purchased four at the time. Over the years I forgot the artist and thanks to the internet, was able to figure out who he was again. Once I had the name I found that Nordic Designs still had his artwork and similar placemats. They have been out of stock for quite a while but finally became available so I ordered four more to complement my original purchase - they are great and I love having them. However, it was a huge shock for the shipping charge, and in truth I almost didn't get them because of it. I do wish they would offer a range of options for shipping.
